Char Reads And Reviews If You Want Me

Not another hockey romance…. Well, sorry, but it is. Helena Hunting knows how to write them, and in her book, If You Want Me, she proves that she knows hockey and how to write a romance worthy of your time.

Nothing is worse than falling in love with your best friend’s daughter. Hollis’s problem is that he is not only best friends with her Dad and on the same hockey team, but she is also the team princess. Hollis shouldn’t see her as the strong and powerful woman she has become, but he can’t help it.

Aurora has a crush, not just any crush. Her crush is on Hollis, her Dad’s best friend. When Hollis comes back from an away game and finds a very personal item things change. He tries to push her away, but she can’t help but keep pushing his buttons until he gives in. What will happen when her father finds out? Can they get through this? How will this change their dynamic on the ice?

This book makes the quote, “But Daddy, I love him!” come to life. Not only are these two characters crazy about each other, but he’s been like her second Dad for years. I usually don’t like to read age-gap romances, but I really enjoy Helena’s writing and how she creates characters. So when I saw that she had another book coming out, I had to jump at it to read, and honestly, it helped me out of a reading slump. The first book in this series followed Tristian and Rix, and I loved them. Now, I can read more about their love and the next set of characters. Aurora is hilarious. I love all of her crazy antics as she pushes Hollis’s buttons. I also love how Hollis is so considerate and loving. When they have a fight, and he picks out all the cheesy stuff for her, I couldn’t help but swoon! I also really want a bag with a banana duck on it! I hated it when Aurora, Hollis, and Roman were fighting. Roman cares so much for his daughter, and throughout the book, it shows. I love this book and can’t wait for the next set of character love stories!
