Dewey Has Something To Say

Hi, to anyone interested… My name is Dewey, and I own a bookstore. My human is making me do this. She thinks that letting humans read what I have to say might be interesting. Personally, I’d rather be sleeping in my box or basket and not talking to other humans who aren’t here to give me the attention I deserve.

I guess I should tell you a little about myself. I am almost one year old, and yes, my language is impeccable for one so young. I do own a bookstore. Remember? So, of course, I am advanced. As I said, I own a bookstore. My human likes to think she owns it, but we all know that I do. I do delegate all the work to her, though. My job is to look good and make sure all the bugs, ghosts, and people are entertained. I am THE face. So, I need my beauty rest. It’s hard work being in the videos and looking cute all the time.

Ugh, she’s asking me to tell you about my day and not ramble. But you like to hear me ramble, right? I mean, that’s the whole point of this, right?

I guess I can tell you about my day. So first off, I get to the store. I make her drive and carry me in. I mean, come on… I can’t get my paws dirty. Who wants dirty paws? I HATE being dirty. I then make sure she puts my food out before she does anything else. I AM the most important and also hungry. It has to be fresh for a handsome prince like me.  After that, I like to run around the store checking for ghosts and also call out to my human while she turns on all the lights. Calling her from random spots and making her find me is one of my many favorite games that we play! Plus, I need to make sure she’s doing her job. Before she can do anything else, I like to attack her feet and chase her. Sometimes, if I’m lucky, I can make her fall and jump on her. Those days are my favorite. It’s even better if I can get a few chews on her hair before she manages to get me off her and back on her feet.  I use my cat ninja skills and jump away from her before she can grab me. It’s kind of the best.

Some days she films me doing my morning routine, and other days she gives me some space. The best is when she sits down to do work. I like to pretend I need attention, then attack her hands. She gets mad at me but never for very long. I mean, have you seen my face? How could you ever stay mad at me? I am the PERFECT boss! I do give her a few kisses, too. It helps make her think I’m adorable. I am, but I have to make sure she remembers.

I love to make her go from working behind the desk to sitting in the brown chairs. But once she moves, I can’t be interested in her lap anymore. It’s one of the best games!

My mornings sound exhausting, don’t they? So then it’s nap number one. Sometimes I choose my box, but recently I found this amazing basket. My human thought she could put products in it, but I wouldn’t allow that. I pushed it off the shelf so many times before her little brain caught on that it was my basket. Finally, she left it empty for me. Seriously, you have to train these darn humans. They would be clueless without someone to help them along.

This is exhausting. So I am going to go take my nap. Maybe I’ll come back and write more, but I might not.

Bye.
