Here’s To THREE Years!
I can’t believe I have been here for 3 years. When I first moved to Watertown, you could have told me that I would open a bookstore, and I probably would have tried to correct you, and so, no, I’m a cook. I should be working in a kitchen and not a bookstore. I had longed to work in a bookstore but never thought I would ever get a job at one, much less own one.

While I post about the days in the life and bits of my everyday life as an owner, I could never have believed that this store would create such an amazing community. Because of this store, I have made so many friends and met so many wonderful people, and I am so thankful for that. It’s also just been great to see my dream grow.
When I think about what I’ve learned over these last three years, I think about all the customers who I have had, good and some bad. Just like any business, I have some fun stories about the bad customers, but honestly, I haven’t had that many. Plus, I have way more stories about the good customers, and I love sharing them with my fellow book lovers and business owners. I love my customers, and I love when people tell me this is the first time coming into the store or that they just moved to town. I love when kids come in and find a new book or want to chat. I live for those moments!
Something unexpected happened in these three years, and his name is Dewey. I am a sucker for kittens, and when Dewey crashed into my life, I wasn’t sure what to do. He has been the best addition to the family and store. Even though he is still young, he is so calm and fun to watch interact with customers. It has been fun seeing people come out of their shy shell when they notice him on the chair. We are lucky that he decided to find us.
Lastly, I want to thank my team of family members who help not only cover the store so I can have a day off but also the ones who are behind the scenes. I am so blessed to have a wonderful family of creative souls that gift me their time and help keep my store running. Also, listen to me vent and test out ideas. I have a lot of very random ideas.
So to sum up, I am incredibly thankful for my business, customers, family, and town. I love Watertown, and I can’t wait to celebrate more wins with you!
