Rainbow Book Challenge Fail
So for the month of June I tried to do the Rainbow Book Challenge. If you don’t know what that means, its where I take the colors of the rainbow and match covers of books to the colors. I had a really fun time with this challenge and I was doing do good until I wasn’t. I will say that I did read five out of the 6 books. So I feel like I did really well and I do still plan on reading the purple book but I wanted to say that I failed at my challenge.
My Red book was ‘The Tenant’, by Freida McFadden. I believe I already wrote a review for this book but I found it very enjoyable and had a very hard time putting it down.
My Orange book was ‘The Temperature of me and you’ by Brian Zepka. I believe I also wrote a review for this one as well. I thought it was very cute. I loved the struggles that the teens had as one has powers and the other starts to develop theirs. I also just thought it was a very well thought out book.
My Yellow book was ‘Wild Things’, by Laura Kay. This book is a slice of life kind of book and very enjoyable. I liked reading about the four friends that moved in together and the secret love between two of them. It was just a very nice and cute read.
My green book was ‘Fan Girl Down’, by Tessa Bailey. Its really not all that surprising that I decided to read a romance. Its probably my favorite genre to read at the moment. Tessa Bailey isn’t my favorite author and golf is an interesting choice to write a sports romance about but weirdly I liked this book and I am glad that I gave Tessa another chance. I was surprised with how she was able to make reading about golf enjoyable. Also I didn’t realize golf had fangirls…..
My blue book was ‘Shady Hollow’, by Juneau Black. This book is actually a reread for me and I don’t regret this choice. Its been a long time since I’ve read it and while I recommend it a bunch I forgot how cute it is. I loved every moment of talking animals!
My Purple book was ‘Spellshop’, by Sarah Beth Durst. This was also a reread for me but the second book in this series comes out in July so I couldn’t help but reread this book. I will say that the purple cover part is a bit of a stretch but the page edges are purple so I think it still counts. Unfortunately I didn’t finish this book in June. I finished it in July. Its a very cute fantasy though and I think if you like cozy fantasy then this book is for you. I also did review this book last year I believe.
Overall, I thought this was a fun challenge todo to celebrate Pride and also do something I love! I’m mad at myself that I didn’t finish it but I am still happy that I actually tried!
