The Queens of Villainy Strikes Again!

Ever wondered what happens when you bargain with your nemesis among the fae? In Enchanting the Fae Queen, the next installment in the Queens of Villainy by Stephanie Burgis, you’ll discover just that.
Queen Lorelei is a notorious fae seductress, with a trail of broken hearts in her wake. But behind her glamorous lifestyle and sparkling mask lurks a dangerously intelligent woman who’d do anything to keep her people safe, including kidnapping the empire’s most famous hero. The virtuous high general Gerard de Moireul represents all that is moral and true. He has to, after his parents were executed for treason. The last thing he needs is the Queen of Balravia, who showers glitter and rainbow-colored sparkles everywhere she goes without the slightest regard for good taste, decorum, or royal dignity. They’re opposites in every way, but when they’re swept up together in a grand–and deadly–fae tournament, they discover all of each other’s most hidden truths–and how perfectly they might be suited for each other after all.
I want to be in the inner circle of the Queens of Villainy series—this second book was fantastic! You could read it out of order, but I suggest starting at the beginning. Lorelei is wild but endearing, her personality a perfect foil to Gerard’s steady order. Their contrasting natures make their partnership engaging throughout. Reading about them tackling the fae competition together was a delight. The Giant part of the competition was my favorite. I enjoyed the addition of riddles and how Lorelei wanted to finish the challenge without hurting anything. The moment when Lorelei and Gerald finally confessed to each other, the morning after, when Lorelei decides to push him away because of all her other traumas. I wanted to scream at her. I can’t wait for the third book and highly recommend this series!
